Dear IQA Families,

Assalaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu.

I would like to welcome you for the 2016-2017 school year. I anticipate an exciting year as we collectively strive to foster a culture of learning. I feel extremely fortunate to be working with such an exceptional group of students, families, and staff members, as this year will be my second year to serve the community in this capacity.

Parents/Guardians are always welcome at our school. We view our parents/guardians as equal partners in providing our children with meaningful educational experience. I look forward to meeting you at our Back to School Night on Thursday, August 11, from 6:00 – 8:00pm. Classroom assignments will be posted and it is a great time to reconnect with former classmates and to make new friends.

School begins on Monday, August 15, 20164 at 7:30 am and classroom assignments again will be posted on campus that morning. Our first bell will ring at 7:45 am with the second bell at 7:50 am to signal the start of the school day. Dismissal will be at 3:30pm every day.

When you arrive on August 15, please proceed to the IANT Multi-purpose hall where teachers will be waiting to meet their class. Each teacher will have a sign with the room number of his or her class for easy identification. When the bell rings, teachers will take their class to the classroom.

Our teachers have worked diligently to prepare a welcome packet for our families. In an effort to going ‘green’, many of the resources have been posted on Edline. Please take a moment to review the items and make note of the events on our school calendar. Our school calendar can be downloaded to your favorite device for easy reference. In addition, please be on the look-out for our weekly reminders via email sent on Thursday evenings. Please also take a moment to read through the Student Handbook as some policies on Cell phone usage, Attendance and Uniform have changed.

This academic year is also critical for us to continue on our perusal of excellence in education. IQA will be re-Certified by AdvancED and we strive to work together to set IQA to a higher standard. Every one of you are an integral part of this re-Certification process, your input is invaluable. We will focus on work that unites us and leads us to an accomplished year. InshaAllah, we will attain success together!

Remember, parents, teachers and administrators will work together to make IQA a premier school in North Texas. Welcome back!

Warm Regards,

Shahnaz Z. Chowdhury, Principal
